Pattern Review: Drea Foldover Pouch by DelindaBoutique

So, I recently had the opportunity to test the pattern for this adorable little foldover pouch by DelindaBoutique on Etsy.

Isn't it cute?  Here's how mine turned out:

Not bad, right?  It took me around 2 hours to complete, but I'm sure it could be made in under an hour without toddler interruptions.

I couldn't find my faux leather, so I substituted with a scrap of upholstery fabric.  I really love how the little flowers counteract the manliness of the plaid fabric.  And the upholstery fabric was plenty sturdy.

You can see here how my pouch is pretty slouchy.  My fabrics were a bit softer than those recommended.  I used a vintage wool suiting for the outside, and a brown/black check lining material on the inside.  In retrospect, it would have been better to either use a sturdier interior, or to add a lightweight interfacing.  I'm still very happy with it.  And don't you just love this vintage metal button?!  So cute!

I was a little worried that the curved edges on the bottom of the bag would give me trouble.  But the pattern pieces fit together really nicely, and I didn't have any problems getting them to come out smoothly.

You can buy the pattern here on Etsy, or here on Craftsy.  All in all, it's a definite 5 stars, and a great little project when you need some instant gratification, or if you need a quick gift!
